Fly Fishing Academy
Fly Fishing Classes, Lessons, and Instruction are held at the Guadalupe River for a realistic learning experience.
"Fly Fishing 101" is for first timers and beginners. We learn three different,
basic casts. We also learn to read the water, knot tying, river access points, fly selection and more. (We provide all equipment)
"Fly Fishing 201" is the next
step for experienced fly fishers who already have basic skills and some experience. We start with a brief review of the basic
skills taught in the "Fly Fishing 101 Class" and build on the foundation. We learn long distance casting by single
and double "hauling," specialty knots, rigging up, technical nymphing, mending, and more. *Please scroll down below
Our Fly Fishing Classes are available for groups or individuals. We start with streamside
casting lessons, fly selection, rigging, reading the water and more....
One of the best choices
for an introduction to fly fishing is a 1/2 day guided float trip in a whitewater raft. After the streamside casting
lesson we get into the raft and put our new skills to work by actually fishing.
We offer classes
and introductory guided trips year 'round. Weekend and weekday slots are available. Please email us, or call to
schedule your fun-filled experience. Private Lesson Rate: $200 for the first two persons; each additional person is
$50 for a two hour class. We provide all equipment. Please call us for group rates.
